I grew up Episcopalian, in a family with deep roots in the tradition and all its beautiful complexity. I married my high school sweetheart, built a beautiful family and raised 3 amazing kids while the military moved us to Hawaii, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Germany and now North Carolina.

I loved all things mystical and kept every bit of it hidden, because I knew what people would say. Too much. Too woo-woo. Not a real Christian. So I performed the version of myself that was acceptable and I wasn't truly happy.

I had built a life that looked right from the outside. But I knew deep down within myself, something was missing.

In 2017, I found myself alone in a church sanctuary and broke wide open, sobbing with no explanation for the tears. Something awakened in me. What followed was years of therapy, spiritual direction, women's circles, and sacred pilgrimages — and somewhere in the middle, a dark night of the soul, too.

Then in January 2024, something shifted for good. I immersed my entire being into the teachings of sacred feminine spirituality and my soul said “She found it.”

I was awake. I could never go back to the way I was.

What I didn't know then was that I was also coming home to something in my blood. I come from English and Scottish heritage, and in finding the path of the Rose Lineage, I found my roots. My great great great great grandmothers were walking this path too, through Celtic spirituality, long before Christianity arrived. Their wisdom had been waiting for me the whole time.

And now, I walk with them.

When I stopped fighting myself and melted into my own soul's essence — that was the shift. I stopped people-pleasing, stopped chasing worth, stopped warring with my body. I came home to myself.

And I never forgot what that felt like.
